I bought this laptop Lenovo S10 on Amazon for my wife there about 6 months. We were not long enough to assess the laptop, because the device does not take responsibility and we could use it for the last three months. Technical support and service for Lenovo is the worst I have ever seen in all major electronics companies in my life. Starting today, 3 months after we Lenovo appointed to the matter, it is not yet clearly defined. We must return to the Lenovo laptop twice, each time we returned to the unit that has not solved the problem. Finally, I told them that they need, send me the new power supply because the device was not able to receive the power supply failure. It was a month and a half. They said they would send me the power supply replacement. The first time they sent me the wrong food. I cried and cried and even insulted, because I was dealing with stupid people who work in the Group of Technical Services. Each time I called, asked if they sent the power each time they said they would send him the following day. My case (WN116340) is still open as of today (10/7/2009). I Will Never buy another product from Lenovo AGAIN. Their technical and service center is worthless. Paul Dang

A year ago, I bought a Compaq laptop for home use, thinking it would be as portable would have been necessary. Well, to be moved on laptops, but they are also a bit heavy. For my birthday this year, after investigation netbooks, I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad S10 from Amazon with a transportation bag neoprene (with handles) and 2 GB of memory. With the bag, the netbook is about the same size and weight as a small purse! I do not play games or download more images or videos, so this is a netbook upgrade memory perfect for my needs. After further research I purchased a SSD to replace the hard drive and memory card 8 GB SanDisk for backup, etc. Finally, I will be my last Microsoft Home & Student 2007 suite, so that the netbook is the same data and word processing functions such as my laptop. The Lenovo immediately connected with Sprint broadband, too. So far, so good – very happy happy with my purchase and with the great service Amazon!

  3. Well, this is my first review. I'll try to give the advantages and disadvantages. Advantages: Small Reliable Good Good Screen package semi-quiet (no fan, one can hardly hear the hard drive when not explicitly understood, but the fan can be a bit much, but not ridiculous) Average prices ( Could be better) – bought it for $ 320 with free shipping Comes with cool fast system startup operating XP to not load too much XP, just to go online, for example. Easy upgrade (upgrade the hard drive of 500 GB of RAM and up to 2 GB, even if Amazon class model S10-1311UW that I received on both occasions was the 4231-model, which is the date of the written examination Cons: laptop very hot the first laptop is overheating and I stopped working reliably (Amazon was great, however, and sent me a replacement) The keyboard is small (but you should expect, as a small netbook) The right shift key is out of place to the position of the normal keyboard (which is common with other netbooks, but) there are disadvantages too long I remember, it already is. Overall, I love this laptop and I recommend it to anyone. Even if I think it is a little too hot, it could be just me. I bought this on the Dell Mini 9 Brand Name Acer Netbook and because of Lenovo and see.

I bought these for my husband who travels throughout the country on business. Most laptops take much space, but is tiny. It fits easily into his briefcase, suitcase, or elsewhere. . . one could almost fit in the glove compartment of his small car. It's great for e mail spreadsheets, Internet, and all reports or presentations, it had to do. It even has a built-in webcam for videoconferencing. The only drawback is that they do not have a CD / DVD. This is a great machine, and we are very happy.

I walk this version of the S10 and I use it a lot in the house and the train ride to work. In addition to the S10, I bought a 9 cell battery to replace the battery, and a stick of 2GB of RAM to up the RAM from 1 GB to two. First the ad. It is a 10 "netbook, and the resolution is 1024×600. If you do some heavy graphics, so it's not the right tool. But for web browsing and e-mail it works very well. The keyboard is a little tight and I think I hit the side keys when typing. But with a little adjustment I can get used to the keyboard and the layout. The Tab and Caps Lock are confused, and Fn + Home key combination is a bit awkward. But for a 10 "keyboard, you can not complain. And it is much better than other netbook keyboards I tried. The HDD 160 GB SATA so there are tons of space for the installation of Office 2007 and other applications that you want to use. If the price of SSD storage, I would probably happen in a snap SSD instead of the mechanical hard drive, but for now the player works very well and have plenty of space to store pictures and music. The wireless works great and I have my wireless router to connect to WPA2-PSK +. I was able to clock 1. 04MB/sec download on the Internet – just as fast as my desktop. Obviously this is not wireless is the bottleneck. With the Webcam for Skype works here. The resolution is a little weak, but it works well for an integrated webcam. The microphone does not work very well, but I have a Skype USB phone for a better overall voice with Skype in any way. Is (I recommend a Skype USB phone or headset if you're not just voice calls, as this really makes a huge difference.) The S10 has only 2 USB ports if you are already a large number of USB devices I recommend a small travel hub. I only have one mouse and CD / DVD, so 2 ports are good, but in a USB hub would add. The only slight negative that I found the SD card reader you do not, you push the card all the way – it kind of seat midway and is a little exposed. I wanted a SD card backup device to use my OS adventure upgrade (see below), but it did not work, because SDCard hanging too far to the left during normal operation. Applied to the positive side, it did not work for my pictures without a USB port. The 9 cell battery hanging from the rear of the S10 so far, making a sizable bump on the back. The form of hanging, creating a mini-notebook stand raises the S10 tilted forward about ¾ inch. The only complaint I have is the battery is almost always the result of calculation! I am not sure if the battery or not, but the 3-cell battery, the S10 comes with an investigation glacial pace. However, 7 to 8 hours to catch up on the battery, and now I have a spare (the old 3-cell) to pop as a backup. FWIW, I Blew away all OEM software & partition and put Windows 7 (RC 1 Build 7100) on the S10. All hardware drivers were downloaded and are easy and no installation on my side. The webcam has been detected, and there was an update for the Intel chipset as me, after updating to Windows does not work. But for a beta (or Release Candidate) OS, it was surprisingly painless. Windows 7 boots and runs as fast as Windows XP. After the 2 GB stick I am very pleased with our performance. Overall, the S10 is what I have in a 10 "netbook pack. Used to replace the stick of 1 GB of RAM with a 2-GB flash drive is the only major improvement in this little netbook forces.
